Ok, so this is my first real attempt to try doing backgrounds digitally. I did it the same way as I always do (draw and ink traditionally, then upload it using a camera, finally coloring it in Gimp), and it took forever. I'm fairly pleased, since I've never drawn a detailed forest scene before.

The scene reveals Hiro's first encounter with Eizen, the main antagonist in my manga, "Dream." It's significant because it lays the foundation for the entire story, or at least the details regarding Hiro and Shinrei's relationship, or lack thereof. They meet several times throughout the story, and each time will reveal a little more about Eizen's past, Eden, Hiro and Shinrei's origins, and the war between the Federation and the Faction.

This is a stand-alone take of the scene, so it may appear differently in the manga.
