Pilot Suit 1

Description

This is kind of like a second concept of a pilot's suit for 3rd generation front line mechs in my manga, "Dream."

The HUD consists of the entire cockpit distributed on three levels: the visor, the holograms generated around the pilot, and the main screen which encircles the entire cockpit area. The main screen displays a combination of the images collected from all external cameras, as well as mapping, atmospheric conditions, systems status and the master menu. The visor and in-cockpit holograms display all data related to the immediate battlefield conditions, speed, angle, altitude, status of friendly and enemy units and targeting, among others.

The pilot suit is integrated directly to the mech's main operations computer and attached to a harness -this allows complete freedom of movement for the pilot, who's movements will translate into movements of the machine. Main muscle groups are linked directly to the mech's mobility systems, and movements are translated via powerful command systems into movements of the machine, supplemented by the Core Respiratory System. Interaction with objects outside of the mech is coordinated by a massive grid of sensors on certain parts of the body, with most concentrated in the hands and feet. All hand equipped armaments can be manipulated simply with a combination of visual and pressure data. Other armaments can be utilized in a variety of ways including voice and mental command (via the helmet). Specific high-precision movements requiring use of thrusters and balancers are carried out with a combination of high powered AI's and mental command.

The cockpit itself is filled with a fluid of low viscosity -easy enough to move through, but just dense enough to provide an additional buffer for the pilot. Outside the cockpit's shell lie two layers of synthetic fluids and semi-solids that act as momentum arrestors. They stabilize the cockpit during movements incorporating extremely high acceleration. Without them, the G forces would be fatal during normal combat. Cockpit support systems differ between mech types. This system is used primarily with cavalry units and special infantry for highly mobile close and mid-range combat.

"Feeling" and "reacting" to the delayed movements caused by the use of these systems requires intensive combat training. The pilot's eyes and all sensory data transmitted to the helmet and visor will tell him or her that they are moving, but they will only feel it after a "lag."

I will post a picture of the cockpit systems and boarding procedure some other time.

Wow! For me ever such plugsuit sketch is near to impossible :D Definitly hard and I don't think I could make so much details.
Maybe just legs looks a little unstabile.
